Here's how the original owner Shane Burger described the guitar:
"This is a one of a kind custom made Jackson King V guitar. There are no others
like it anywhere. It has full over florescent green spiderweb with florescent orange
bevels. Reverse head stock, neck through construction, full neck and head stock
binding, custom red Jackson logo. This guitar features one humbucker (painted to
match guitar) one volume, one tone, and an on/off switch. There are NONE more metal
than this guitar. It is offered in completely MINT CONDITION!!!!
The guitar is as brand new as when I recieved it from the custom shop. This guitar
was built for me and took 18 months to complete. I have the original custom shop
invoice and inspection hang tags. Comes with hard shell Jackson case.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity!!! Bid with confidence."
The OHSC is in great condition and the gtr
is like new. Mahogany/poplar construction gives the guitar a unique sound and feel. Neck
is really fat. The finish may be flashy but underneath there's a really great sounding
guitar! Perfect example of Jackson Custom Shop quality.
I asked some more questions via email and here are Shane's answers:
WHAT IS THE SERIAL NUMBER?
"the serial # is j 5906... i had it made for me 5/13/91"
- The serial actually is 5905. :)
CAN YOU TELL ME SOMETHING ABOUT THE GUITARS HISTORY?
"The guitar wascreated to match a tape cover my band had released at the time called
'strikkly wikkid'........ i wanted a verry dark looking guitar that was accented by the
boarder- being the flourecent bevels....... we had a dark stage and it made the spider
web look as though it were floating. i only ever use the bridge pickup, so i had them
wire it with an on off switch for toggel tricks. when it arrived i used it that night
in an ozzy tribute band called 'believer' at a club called 'the metron' in front of
7900 people and it went over great. it was orderd from terrace music, a store i worked
in and eventually owned. now i own a small shop called geetarz 'n' stuff and i specialise
in 80's style guitar stuff. the king v has been case kept for years now- it is flawless
as brand new... it was retired after only 12 gigs for risk of any damage (its far too
beautifull to play out) i have gotten it out from time to time and made the proper neck
adjustments and just decided that its far too cool to just let sit in its case so i
am selling it to re invest in my shop and hope to god that someone that truly appreciates
it gets it- it is the ONLY ONE like it anywhere."
WHAT PICKUP IS IN THERE?
"The pickup is a duncan distortion, i had it coverd and factory painted to match the body
perfectly........ its really neat!"
"The guitar is made out of poplar wings with a mahogany neck thru section, i figured it
would give it mega sustain (it did). most rhoads and king v guitars are all poplar, but
the mahogany didnt add much weight and sounds sooooooooo killer!
WHAT IS THAT SIGN ON THE TRUSS ROD COVER?
":) Thats my bible script "s" for shane- ingraved at the factory.... i do that to every
king v and custom i get made. you can say its for "spyder" hehehehehe!
Below is a picture from the guitar when it was at Terrace Music shop.
